Girl trying on glasses in optical office

Everyone knows that, whichever glasses you choose, they will dramatically change your appearance. Each pair complements your face differently and helps you build the persona you want the world to see when they look at you.

Since your face is almost always the thing people notice first about you, the glasses you choose go a long way to shaping the first impression you leave. Our goal is to help you pick the frames that will send the best possible message about you, to everyone you meet.

So Many Options

Knowing how important it is to find the perfect frames, it can be a bit daunting to consider the number of options available to you, when you start looking. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to narrow down your choices, and make your selection process much more effective.

Here, we’ll provide a brief guide of some factors to consider, but we’re also happy to answer any other questions you may have. Please see our website for further insight about Optical Options and how we can help you send the right message with your eye wear.

Knowing Your Facial Shape is Crucial

Perhaps the most important thing to determine is your facial shape. Certain frames consistently complement certain facial shapes, and this can help focus your search.

For an in-depth examination of each facial shape, and its corresponding frame recommendations, see our blog article.

This page will introduce a more limited introduction to the different classifications of facial shape, and the different characteristics of frames that you’ll need to consider.

What You Need to Know About Shape

  • Heart: Wider at the forehead, gently narrowing to the chin (also referred to as the “Inverted Triangle” face shape)
  • Square: Equal width through forehead, cheeks, and chin, with angular features and a sharp jawline
  • Round/Circle: Equal width through forehead, cheeks, but with soft, rounded features and jawline
  • Diamond: Face is widest at the cheekbones, with forehead and jawline of equal length
